A midsize SUV with two-row seating, the 2024 Ford Edge is going with its strengths, of which there are many. For example, the silhouette is still very fashionable, the cabin is still very roomy, and the model still boasts the same elevated levels of comfort and dependability as always. What’s more, Ford continues to offer the Edge in multiple versions: SE, SL, ST-Line, Titanium and ST.
The base model of the Edge comes standard with a 2.0 L inline-four EcoBoost engine featuring a twin-scroll turbocharger and direct injection. All-wheel drive and an eight-speed transmission are also standard equipment. This powertrain can produce 250 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque. This lends the vehicle plenty of vigor, especially considering its weight (1,869 to 2,048 kg). As for fuel economy, it remains reasonable at 11.5, 8.3 and 10.0 liters per 100 kilometers (city, highway and overall).
The other powertrain, which is exclusively available on the ST version, is a 2.7 L V6 twin-turbo EcoBoost. Although overall consumption increases to 11.1 liters per 100 kilometers, there’s plenty of power under the pedal (335 hp and 380 lbf·ft). With a seven-speed transmission and FWD, the Ford Edge ST can go from 0 to 100 km/h in six seconds.
The 2024 Ford Edge remains a safe, reliable sport utility vehicle. With a cabin volume of 3,225 liters, 1,020 millimeters of headroom, up to 2,078 liters of cargo volume and maximum towing capacity of 3,500 pounds, it’s a very practical SUV. And very popular, too, especially in the loaded SEL version.
The bumper-to-bumper warranty is for 3 years or 60,000 kilometers, regardless of the version. Meanwhile, the warranty on the powertrain and safety restraint system is for 5 years or 100,000 kilometers.
As the trim level increases, the 2024 Ford Edge offers a growing level of luxury, as well as full instrumentation. Standard equipment includes a 12-inch center touchscreen and advanced multimedia and connectivity features (SYNC 4A, Apple CarPlay, FordPass Connect and Android Auto). The Titanium version is plush and exceptionally safe, notably thanks to the Belt-Minder, MyKey, Personal Safety, Safety Canopy and Post-Collision Braking systems, in addition to front and rear airbags and side curtains.
