The 2024 Ford Escape PHEV lends increased credibility to the automaker’s ongoing commitment to energy efficiency. In fact, for our markets, Ford Canada is dedicating 35 percent of its production capacity to this plug-in hybrid model. This is in addition to the 10 percent devoted to the manufacture of hybrid models in general. As a result, many of the Escapes that will soon be traveling our roads will be electrified.
There’s a real demand for SUVs that are practical, safe, versatile and economical. And the Escape PHEV responds to all of the above expectations. On top of that, for 2024, the MSRP will be less than $47 thousand, which is $500 less than the 2023 model!
Furthermore, the purchase or lease (for 48 months or more) of any Escape PHEV qualifies for a point-of-sale discount of up to $5,000 under the federal Incentives for Zero-Emission Vehicles (iZEV) Program. You can even combine this amount with the discounts offered by the Government of Quebec for the same type of vehicle.
Like the conventional versions, the 2024 Ford Escape PHEV features the same refined, aerodynamic exterior as before. It also remains as practical as ever, with a maximum cargo volume of 1,722 liters. However, we will see a few modifications to the offered equipment. For example, the block heater will no longer come standard, but instead will be available at a base price of $250. The SecuriCode keyless entry system will also be an option, installed by the dealer.
As for the connected navigation system, it will now be included at no charge for one year. After that, you’ll have to buy a subscription. Otherwise, you can continue using the navigation apps on your own devices.
The powertrain of the 2024 Ford Escape PHEV is highly efficient, offering fuel consumption of only 5.6 liters per 100 kilometers in city driving. With a continuously variable transmission (CVT) and front-wheel drive, the 2.5 L inline-four engine works with the support of an electric motor, producing 118 horsepower (88 kW) and 129 pound-feet of torque for a total of 210 horsepower. Meanwhile, the 14.4 kWh lithium-ion battery offers a range of 60 km in all-electric mode and a hybrid range of up to 771 km on a full tank of gas.
