The 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning will be more available than ever, with shorter delivery times even in Canada. This is due to the $2 billion invested by the Dearborn manufacturer to increase production of its full-size electric trucks. The 2023 and 2024 XLT versions are prioritized, while the even more affordable PRO version can now be ordered by both individuals and businesses.
Changes regarding the lineup of the 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning have been proposed since October. The current base Lightning XLT (312A) gives way to the new FLASH version. This is offered in “extended range” configuration only. It includes the Bang & Olufsen audio system and a 15-inch central touchscreen with wireless SYNC 4A connectivity as standard.
However, a XLT version remains for 2024, the 311A. This is equipped with a standard range battery and technologies found in the 2023 XLT. With one difference: the reverse sensing system is no longer part of the towing technology package (17 V) or the 110A group.
Another variant: the Lightning Lariat (510A) becomes the Lariat 511A, which notably includes the keyless phone (as standard). The PRO version, on the other hand, now includes the speed limit sign recognition system. Finally, the active park assist 2.0 is no longer optional.
Ford has made a significant effort to keep the prices of its Lightning competitive in 2024. Therefore, the PRO, XLT 311A, FLASH, Lariat 511A, and Platinum versions show the following MSRPs (in order): $59,995, $69,995, $86,995, $99,595, and $112,495.
It’s important to note that the 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning features a two-motor electric powertrain and all-wheel drive. With the standard range (98.0 kWh lithium-ion battery), the power equals 452 hp / 775 lb-ft, with a range of 386 km. In extended range mode, the power increases to 580 hp / 775 lb-ft, with a 131.0 kWh battery enabling a range of 515 km. The maximum towing capacities are 7,700 lbs and 10,000 lbs respectively.
