The 2024 Ford Expedition, now in its fourth generation, undergoes a minor facelift for 2024. Primarily in its front-end design (headlights). There are also some modifications to the available options depending on the trim level.
The available trim levels include XLT ($77,780), Limited ($91,710), Timberline ($93,240), Limited MAX ($95,210), King Ranch ($102,650), Platinum ($106,005), King Ranch MAX ($106,150), and Platinum MAX ($109,505). Ford continues to offer a wide range of choices for its large three-row SUV.
Comfort and luxury are not compromised, even in the base version. For those seeking additional peace of mind, there are Expedition models equipped with advanced safety packages, towing capabilities, or autonomous driving features.
The interior offers an enjoyable experience, with features such as a 15.5-inch touchscreen incorporating SYNC 4A, Ford CoPilot 360 connectivity, and the Bang & Olufsen audio system. Options like leather upholstery and a panoramic roof can further enhance the experience.
All versions of the 2024 Ford Expedition come with a 3.5-liter turbocharged EcoBoost V6 engine under the hood. The engine’s power output varies: it starts at 380 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque, while the King Ranch and Platinum versions produce 400 hp and 480 lb-ft of torque. The Timberline version gets a boost to 440 hp and 510 lb-ft of torque.
The A10 transmission with SelectShift is standard, as is the Control Trac all-wheel-drive system with a 7-mode Terrain Management System. The Ti-VCT technology, which is a dual-independent variable cam timing system, is also included. Platinum models come with gas-charged shocks, and the suspension is independent with unequal-length control arms at the front and a multilink setup at the rear with an optional rear load-leveling feature.
The Expedition’s towing capacity can reach 9,200 pounds, and its city/highway fuel consumption is rated at 12.9 L/100 km with the 360 hp V6.
In MAX configuration, the 2024 Ford Expedition measures over 5.6 meters in length, over 2 meters in width, and over 1.9 meters in height. It can comfortably seat eight people. The interior space for the first two rows of seats is equivalent to that of a Ford F-150 with a SuperCrew cab. In the regular configuration, the Expedition offers cargo space with a volume of up to 2,962 liters, which increases to 3,439 liters in MAX configuration.
