For 2024, the multipurpose Ford Transit van will have a few new features. Ford has designed this versatile vehicle with its fluid silhouette for a wide range of commercial uses. Therefore, it will once again be available in a variety of configurations (roof heights, lengths, wheelbases, cabin sizes, L-shaped bulkheads, etc.). It will also come in an all-electric version.
The efficient 2.0 L EcoBlue turbodiesel engine should continue doing what it does best with four options in horsepower (i.e. 109 hp, 134 hp, 148 hp and 168 hp). However, for the 2024 model year, the 3.5 L V6 EcoBoost will no longer be available on the Transit models with low or medium roof heights or those with rear-wheel drive (with the exception of the Ambulance Package).
For 2024, the Ford Transit now comes standard with halogen headlights (on all gasoline-powered versions) and a rear door that opens 253 degrees. This is in addition to the new Delivery Assist technology, which automatically activates the hazard lights when the vehicle is in park (only on the long wheelbase models with automatic transmission). Other standard equipment includes a 12 V Powerpoint, cruise control and two remotes without buttons (unless the buyer selects the Intelligent Access option).
In the base version, the Transit will come with a six-speed manual transmission, as well as a limited-slip differential. An eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive will also be available.
The options will be different for 2024. For example, the dual-note horn will only be available on the Ambulance and School Bus packages. As for the privacy glass, it should be available for inclusion on all medium and high roof versions. However, safety glass will only be available on the Ambulance and School Bus packages.
You should be aware that certain options previously available on the Ford Transit won’t be returning for 2024. These include the 4G LTE WiFi hotspot, the power sliding door and the auto start-stop feature (on the versions with the 3.5 L PFDI or 2.5 L EcoBoost engine).
The same goes for the perimeter alarm, the Carbon Black rear step bumpers (only on the low roof model), the carpet floor mats, the egress window, the 15-minute automatic idle timeout feature, the MyKey feature, the stainless steel wheel liners, the plastic scuff plate kit and certain upholstery options.
