That’s well over of the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV’s 35 kilometres. With that kind of range, the vast majority of people will have enough “juice” for everyday driving without having to refuel, or at least very rarely.

Insanely low fuel ratings

With a powertrain that consists of a liquid-cooled, 14.4 kWh lithium-ion battery smartly packaged below the floor of the 2nd row, a 2.5-litre 4-cylinder engine that develops 221 horsepower and 155 lb-ft of torque, and an 88 kW electric motor, combined with an electrically controlled continuously variable transmission, the 2021 Ford Escape Plug-in Hybrid‘s average fuel consumption is less than 6 litres at 5.8 L/100 km. Not bad, right?

It will take you about 3.5 hours at a 240-volt charging station to get a full charge back, while 10 to 11 hours will be needed on a 110-volt outlet.
